If you like history this is a great location. You are actually on/near the battle field. The park is diverse with areas for tents, horses, horse paddocks, cabins, and seasonal guests. We had an unseasonably hot stay, and found our shadeless location extremely warm in the late afternoons, but by 9 pm we could actually turn the AC off and open the windows. This park is very near the new and exciting visitors center which was so interesting (plus lots of air conditioning) we forgot the heat of the day. Our gravel site was very level with easy hook ups, but we found the ground too hard to anchor our awning which is vital during the heat of the day. The bathroom was very close, but extremely warm as the day went by. Wonderful laundry room with new equipment. On the backside of the bathrooms is a sink with running water for primitive camping to use. Large park with plenty of walking for people and pets. There is a catch and release pond with a small flock of ducks. There is a horseshoe and volleyball court with good playground for the kids. We learned to tour the battle fields by mornings and spend time in the visitors center in the heat of the day. If traveling with pets, please check the weather as the coolest we got the RV was mid 80's during the day. We rented horses from the park, as nearby there are horse trail on the battlefield.
This park was easy to find. We found the road to the park in good condition, and camping signs well placed as indicators which way to turn. Friendly owners, and hard working. Many trash cans near sites, some incline to roads and levelers needed at our site. Wi-fi is easy to connect to, as well as cable is available for the TV. Clean restrooms and showers. Great walking areas for both people and pets. Tree shaded spots are available with easy hook ups. Nice cool water flows from your faucets with a great taste. Roomy spots with nice big trees on the properties. A good straight exit driveway to check/hook up your tow car prior to leaving, also near dump station is an air machine if needed to add air or check the pressure in your vehicle tires or RV. This KOA is close to gas stations and eating spot. Wonderful place to stay the night or longer. Clean pool with deck for sunning bathing. There is a catch and release pond, plus geese that know the sound of breaking bread. Less than a mile away is an entrance to the Blue Ridge parkway.
Excellent location near Interstate for easy travel to area attractions. Clean park with nice level gravel pads. Dog walk has individual trash containers for refuse. Quiet park with bingo, entertainment, plus breakfast on Saturday in the rec room. Nice, big and homey-like bathrooms. Vehicles are parked in front of campers same direction as road. Rules are clear and easy to follow. Helpful staff with ice and propane for sale on site. Reasonable driving distance to town for supplies. Gas station less than mile away. Would highly recommend this park for anyone.
The park was clean. Easy to find, easy to check in. Plenty of trash receptacles, nice clean pool and very quite park. The first night we did notice the train, but was easy to ignore. Lots of extra grassy areas to walk and exercise the dog. The other guests were friendly and thoughtful with their dogs. Ducks were walking the grounds which was fun to watch. Gas was less than 1000 feet from the entrance with easy to pick up supplies. Propane and ice were available at the office. The wifi service worked wonderfully. We were not disturbed and other than the weather being very warm we had a very enjoyable time. Next time in this area we would only come during a cooler time of the year.
Easy on and easy off Interstate. New owners with lots of enthusiasm. Rural setting with plenty of trees to look at from your window. Recent rains had made site slightly un-level but long enough to find a spot to set up. We needed extensions for our water and electric as hook ups were in the front with sewer in the rear. There is no WI Fi at present, but new owners did mention they were working toward having it. Nice clean pool with playground for kids. Close gas station with supplies for quick pick up. Park has lots of charm and plenty of places to walk your dog. New owners are working hard to make the park a wonderful place for all to enjoy.
Great location for easy on and off interstate. The advertising for the longest pull thrus is most definitely true. Nice wide, long and plenty of grass. We had a Gardenia bush next to our window in full bloom. All the hook ups were easily located, plus cable and WiFi. Due to the large size of this park, bathrooms may be a walk due to location of site, but pleasant with plenty to see. Nice dog park with plenty activity for the dog, plus available poop bags if needed. Nice community room where church services are held. Really nice restaurants extremely close, Cracker Barrel, KfC,and Shoney's. Plenty of gas stations with easy to pull in for rigs. We really enjoyed our stay here with nice clean pool. We will hear the busy traffic on the interstate, but not a problem. Nice owners who are willing to make your stay a happy one.
Nice rural fish camp next to the river. We had a wonderful time. Easy to set up rig. Great place for the dog with plenty of walking room and lots to see. Bring your fishing pole as there is a floating dock for the advid fishing person. The full timers were in the back of the park and were quiet. Great local restaurants to eat at nearby. Nice clean pool with a playground for the kids. Close to Daytona. Boat rentals are available.
